“80s and 90s cars are back – because childhood dreams never fade.” – Koen Van Hout
What began as a small gathering of automotive enthusiasts on the Belgian coast has evolved into one of Europe’s most fascinating automotive events. The Zoute Grand Prix attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors, yet it still feels remarkably personal. Unlike many international concours or supercar festivals, the event reflects something uniquely Belgian: a passion for automobiles combined with a certain modesty. Many of the country’s most impressive collections remain hidden from public view throughout the year, making Zoute one of the rare occasions when extraordinary cars emerge from private garages and appear together in one place.Part of the event’s success lies in its ability to combine multiple worlds. Classic cars, modern hypercars, concours competitions, rallies, auctions, and family activities all exist side by side.
According to CEO Kun Vleugels, there may be individual events around the world that excel in one particular category, but few manage to combine so many experiences into a single destination. As the collector market continues to shift toward the icons of the 1980s and 1990s, Zoute has adapted by introducing dedicated categories for modern classics and emerging collectibles. Yet the long-term vision remains unchanged: creating an event that welcomes every generation of enthusiast. From children participating in miniature rallies to collectors dreaming of seeing a Bugatti Tourbillon on the Belgian coast, Zoute continues to prove that car culture is strongest when it brings people together.
